Guitar players

I'm just concerned about their quality control.
its gone to hell as ive seen several on racks that were
fresh out of the box and pure crap. so henry's answer seems to be
to raise the prices and not work on his quality control issues.
probably the most oer priced guitars out there these days.
cash vs quality is a complete mess it seems on models below the
Les Paul Standard.

you can buy a chibson for a fraction. i would like another standard
just to look pretty in the corner. i had a les paul standard epiphone
a while back and it looked really nice too but that was about it both
are meh imo

that's when you take it and build something much nicer out of
the platform you have before you.
as an example........
I just bought this for $100 off CL. yes its an epi but I bought it for a couple reasons.
TV Yellow, p90's, and its mahogany wood. now its up to me to make this thing
exceptional. with a parts swap, fret leveling, wiring change this thing will pur like a
kitten before long and I wont hardly have anything in it compared to the Gibson version
of this guitar. plus it will play just as solid as any of the better gibson's out there.
if ya cant find it or don't want to pay the high prices, build it then right.

i have a couple lower end fenders i've been thinking of maybe building
one up. im not knocking les pauls i think they are beautiful, but i dont
like much else about them. i used to know a guy that killed it dumpster
diving all over the place. he had an great guitar collection too including
les pauls that came straight from the dumpster they all needed some
repair to one degree or another which he did. i never had the testicular
fortitude to accompany him though

a good paul is nice to have in your collection indeed.
its the dang price points on these and some other guitars are
getting WAY out of hand.
price and quality no longer go hand in hand.

hell I would have went with him for sure lol.

I love to build guitars. Specifically Telecasters. Of course, I love to play more, still gigging at 46, but, it's all a hobby. I sit in some up in Nashville and around town. I will try to post some of my builds. Good thread!

I've tried to learn in year's past, but I never caught on. Maybe I'll try it again next year.

I did see this guy in concert last week and he knows his way around a guitar. He was playing a McPherson and it looked to be a beautifully made piece.
