You friends with RedneckAndyHad an SCCY that a co worker gave me on the day I got fired. It sucked and made a bad day even worse.
Had an old S&W that was given to me by a dear friend… the kind of fellow you’d jump on a grenade for…
But it wouldn’t even eject the spent shells out of the cylinder. Makes me wonder why he’d give it to me…
Bought a Rossi 44 from a ****ty gunsmith who said it was good to go but I couldn’t operate the lever action.
Remington 770 in .243. Paid $199.98 to a guy who said his wife was forcing him to sell it. I think he fibbed.
Ruger P85- shot lights out, but only for me apparently. Picked it up at a gun show from a dude I swear I’ve met before.
I had a Sig Mosquito that couldn’t be handled due to excessive lubrication.
You deserve your Avatar.Horror stories from gun owners:
My own story: bought a piece of junk .25acp because it was cheap. Didn't know that .25acp ammo (back then) cost the same as .38 special ammo. It jammed a lot, at least once per magazine. Later it burned in a house fire and I got to write it off my taxes - the best thing that gun ever did.
Bought a SCCY for the wife because she liked the fancy colors. The fascination didn’t last long. Traded to a guy at work who was about to get fired. He deserved the gun and being fired greatly.
Got an old S&W revolver in .38 special from a pawn shop. They made sure to tell me there was no warranty and at that price no returns. It would not eject the shells even after cleaning the cylinders multiple times with everything short of calling Roto-Rooter. Then the trigger pull started getting harder and harder. I lubed everything I could and finally one day I gave it away to a guy that I disliked intensely.
MAB P-15 French gun. Should say it all. It had a recoil system where the barrel would rotate on lugs in the slide. Every time it locked up, the point of aim was different. You could also override the slide safety buy putting pressure on the trigger.
Rossi 44 magnum lever rifle. Purchased from an estate. I don't think it had been fired ever. Took it to the range, and on the third round I could not get the the spent shell to eject, the lever was stuck in the closed position. Ended up trading for a Glock 48 with full disclosure as to the rifles condition. The guy I traded with said the took the rifle to a gunsmith who worked for two hours before he got the lever to open.
Remington 770 in 243 Win. Fortunately I only paid $200. Unfortunately I will never get that $200 back. I was young. Piece of junk.
Auction fever. I had the winning bid on a Winchester M1886 that basically had no bore and had been non-professionally refinished. I managed to sell it for a small loss and counted myself very lucky.
I once bought an early Ruger P85 after the salesman at the gun store said it was very reliable and built like a tank. Well, he was half-right because it weighed as much as a tank. Accuracy was all over the place, I mean 15 inch groups at 7 yards. One of my friends laughed at that and after handing the gun, he got it down to just over 14 inch groups. Finally sold it at a gun show.
Had a Sig Mosquito that liked to jam a lot. I never got through a full mag without a jam but finally learned that if it was soaked in lubricate it might go five rounds without jamming. Finally traded it in on another handgun to the same shop that sold it to me.
Worst I owned wa a Llama XV 22 pistol, sort of a mini 1911 carefully engineered to never fire a full magazine without choking at least three times.
Recent - LCP Max. That stapler trigger and the reset would pluck my finger and cause bleeding. Some of the bleeding was due to the blood thinners I take but the LCP started it. Sold it and purchased the Bodyguard 2.0
Hmmmmm…. Doesn’t ring a bell. 😂You friends with RedneckAndy
