Guns you love but don't care to own

308 pistol. I'm on #2 and when the market turns it's finding a new home. The cool and wow factor are awesome, but it doesn't do for me what I thought it would.

My favorite handgun is the Beretta 92 series. The grip of the thing feels like it was made for my hand. The action feels smooth as glass, when manipulating the slide. It points naturally for me, and I can flick the safety off without adjusting my grip. Recoil in 9mm is negligible. I won't own another one because the company's lack of customer service and support left a bad taste in my mouth. Had issues with a different Beretta model, and couldn't get hold of anybody at Beretta to fix my problem. The customer service number in the manual connected me to an outsourced gunsmith.
The customer service of Glock, Sig, and Smith and Wesson have spoiled me, I guess.
The 92 is a great firearm, but I can't justify giving Beretta my money, when Glock, Sig, and Smith and Wesson make fine products that they would support, in the unlikely event that I need them to.

So many of them! Years ago I realized I needed to start justifying any firearm I own. At least a little bit, anyway. For me, it's about asking myself why I should get it. If that filter wasn't in place I would own a lot of safe queens.

This is well put, and my approach, exactly.

You know how sometimes you have an itch and if you ignore it enough it'll go away and other times, no matter how much you scratch it, it just keeps itching?

Well I scratched my USP45 itch and it turned in to a new USP Expert. Like ya'll said, the justification is a gate to overcome, and when the missus and I were talking about hiking in bear country, she said "you just need to make sure to bring enough gun to keep us safe!" So I looked hard at my XCarry and P226 and neither were "enough for BEAR country!" So the XCarry got sold and I was off in search for a USP and long story short, got a great deal on a new one from Gun Commanders, for less than used ones on GB.

I wonder how long I can hold out on the Benelli? Probably a few months...

HK91, I had to have one. Traded a Colt SP1 & post-ban Colt MT HBAR to get one at a gun show, bought 30 mags & 1000k rounds of ammo. Drove out to Emerson, GA to shoot it. Went thru 1 mag and hated the recoil. Traded it back the following weekend.
