I think i'll stay home and occupy it!
I'm sure there are many who would love to exercise their 2nd amendment, but most likely at an opportune time. I just don't see any correlation here whatsoever.
I don't see any good that could come from this. Especially for the firearms community. Not everyone there is a bleeding-heart liberal, but MANY are so it would just add fuel to the fire. Add in the violent protestors, a redneck with a bad temper and itchy trigger finger, police and you have a situation that could get out of hand quickly.
I have read what HGUNHNTR has had to say on other threads.
The things the 99%ers are asking for are basically a turn toward Marxism.

The people who are protesting are clinging to their first amendment rights. Are you aware that they don't have a First Amendment right in a Communist Country... Try protesting like this in Cuba and see where it gets you...
The protesters need to be reminded that our SECOND AMENDMENT secures their right to the FIRST AMENDMENT. That would be my purpose for carrying a gun at the Occupy events. The very things they are protesting for would take away their right to protest if they instituted it. The whole idea is moronic.
I started this thread to get opinions, not to try to get something to happen. I think it would be fun to sit back and watch but I don't think I would want to deal with the cops in Atlanta. I would probably be asked to leave out of respect for public safety.

If anyone does go down there OC-ing and stirs up trouble I will be f-ing pissed and so will the rest of the firearms community. Either you OC on your best behavior or you stay home. Don't make the rest of us look bad just so that you can feel like a badass.
I think I'll stay at home on this one and watch this on the 6 o'clock news.
I agree with what you are saying. I started this thread to see what people thought about it. If somebody with a gun goes down there and acts like the other idiots down there, then they deserve what they get.
I wonder why only Gun People are held to a higher standard. You can be a retard (no offense to the disabled) and get by with anything related to the First Amendment, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth... etc...
I carry and would not change my habits if ,for some reason, I had to go down to the area where the protesters are located. However, I would not go down there for the sake of just showing up armed and ready, it is just asking for trouble. Maybe we are held to a higher standard because we tend to be more practical, realistic, and responsible than the majority of the "Occupiers"?????
