GWL Holders Open Carry Their Guns To The OCCUPY ATLANTA Event?

I understand where you are coming from, but all it's gonna do is incite people. I'd go down and hand out Cain pamphlets, but having the firearm exposed is asking for trouble in my opinion.
Try to rip my gun off my belt...... it would not end well for either of us I am sure. You are welcome to your opinion, but calling people who disagree with you stupid is not likely to earn you any favors. You don't have to be PRO open carry, but to take such an offensive and insulting stand on a fairly pro-gun group is likely to do nothing but piss a portion of the people off. Congratulations though on essentially calling the owner, operator, and creator of these forums "stupid" since every time I've met him he was open carrying. A good way to endear yourself to the population here... insult the guy who made it possible and many members of the site on top of that.
oh, and I'm sure no other conversations or debates about open versus concealed carry have ever happened here or on another site...
BTW, you need a permit in Georgia to carry openly or concealed in most places, so if they're open carrying there, they have a GWL that allows them to conceal as well if they aren't violating any laws.
Are you from the most recent 83rd recon or back in the 40's if your username is to be taken as a representation of who you are?
Nothing makes me sicker then a nice gun in a 5 dollar holster meh. Should be a crime.
You sir are welcome to your opinion as well. Put your gun in one of those cheap holsters and open carry when you don't know me from jack. I will assure you that it will be mine if I want it.
Don't try and twist my words open carry IS STUPID.
Why? Because you have advertised to any potential threat who and what you are and what you have. Now if I am a bad guy I know it and unless you have eyes in the back of your head or 360 degree vision or never leave the confines of your property you will at some time be at a disadvantage and the criminal will strike.
I've seen it happen to cops in uniform. If they are that brazen what do you think they think of you?

As to my username it is in honor of the us army unit from ww2 attached to the 3rd AD.
My guns are never in a cheap holster. Open carry "is stupid" in your opinion. If doing something is stupid, who does that thing, the intelligent? Do you claim that you weren't saying people are being "stupid" if they open carry? If not, then you admit to saying that people open carrying are being stupid in doing so and I have not "twisted" you words.
The people and employees who didn't get robbed at gun-point because of someone open carrying probably don't think it is as stupid as you do. The criminals who are behind bars because of that are probably not happy that there were people open carrying.
"Bad guys" tend to avoid difficult targets. I can't recall the last time I heard of a gun show being robbed at gun point, can you? I can't recall the last time I heard of a police station being robbed, can you? I can't recall the last time I heard of an overseas military base (where everyone is armed) suffering an armed robbery, can you?
In Georgia, we don't have a CWL btw... continue to demonstrate ignorance and it will only hurt your "cause"... This isn't Chicago, we respect the 2nd Amendment in all it's forms, not just the Jim Crow laws...

If you don't carry in a cheap holster, then you stand a better shot. Still however you have given away your tactical advantage. One person OC'ing amoungst potential criminals is very very STUPID. The act is stupid. The person may not be stupid, just ignorant of tactics. The idea of marching down to the Occupy protest which is what this thread is about wearing weapons OC is STUPID. If you disagree, well fine, move on.
The last gunshow I attended set up as a dealer - not ONE civilian or dealer in the room could have a loaded gun. Police were hired to guard it, and there were many of them. Your analogy has no bearing.
As for my username, I suppose I could come up with something real clever to reflect the 23+ years of service both active duty military and local/county and federal LE as well but I chose the "quaint" name. Why?

Reality check: Have you had weapon retention training with that holster? Are you in good physical shape? When was the last time you were in a fight? It's easy to sit on the side of the river and cast stones at the boats going by. In the end, you're still sitting where you started however.
Open carry in cities, crowds, public gatherings etc is indeed STUPID. It does not PROMOTE the 2nd amendment, it SCARES people. Why? There are too many idiots out there that do STUPID stuff with guns. Many "gunowners" I have seen are not as responsible with a firearm as my 4 year old is.
CWL/CWP/GWL, little photocopied permission form from the county whatever you like to call it. It's shall issue. Just go pay your money and get your BG check. What part of your little semantics game are you claiming is my ignorance? You claim to "respect the 2nd Amendment in all it's forms, not just the Jim Crow laws" well should'nt you then be fighting for Arizona/Vermont style Concealed carry laws? hmmm.
