Halloween Hunt

Anyone beside me planning on playing trick or treat with the deer today? Hot enough to make you sweat your nads off; but duty calls. This is my favorite day of the year to hunt.

My kids have been begging me to go and there is always tomorrow night, the weekend, and so on...

I work nights on a rotating work schedule. Just glad to even be able to hunt this year.

I saw the same spike again right at dark. He looks like he is getting ready for the early rut as he is starting to get shoulders. He got a pass and the raccoon also. Really didn't want to shoot a raccoon with a suppressed 308 at 10 yards in the dark. They are starting to make a lot of scrapes and rechecking them to keep them clean. A hot day in the stand is still better than the A/C at work.

Yeah man I went out tonight and had a large herd of does come up on me after I heard noise in the distance and let out a mild grunt call.
I thought they were squirrels and birds since they have been very active lately until I saw
Large bodies moving in the thick stuff.
I was not able to make a shot but it's nice to know they're coming through my honey hole again.
