I personally love the added challenge of hunting with a handgun, even more so with my carry gun.
I have taken 1 deer with an XD tactical .45acp, one with a S&W686 4" .357, and another with a springer 1911 .45 acp. This year I plan to take at least two deer with my current carry gun, my Glock 21SF.

So any other handgun hunters on here? Pictures of your pistol are welcome!

This is what I'm planning to use this year :)

Yep...I love to hunt deer in the brush with this:

Got a nice little buck a couple of years ago with it...Taurus 608 8-3/8" barrel, .357 Mag.

I no longer have the weapon, but about 11 years ago I bought a plain jane entry level Kimber Custom Stainless in .45. I killed over 20 deer with that pistol out to 25 yards no problem. I love to handgun hunt. I just need to get my buddy to sell the thing back to me now, but I don't think it will ever happen!

If he is a real friend of yours see if he will just lend it to you for deer season. Worth a shot, me and my buddies loan each other different guns so much sometimes we have to think about who actually owns what...lol

I like the way you think! LOL. I actually have borrowed it from him several times to hunt with. I've got other handguns I could use, but for some reason I've always been more fond of that one than any other. It was one of those that fit my hand just right and I was always able to be extremely accurate with it. I'll get it back from hiim one day, even if I have to steal it!

I plan on using this .44 mag beast this year. It will be my first year hunting with a handgun so wish me luck!

Good luck man! If you are like me, you'll love it. I am much more comfortable in the thick woods with my Taurus in my bandolier holster.

I missed one at dusk last year...so I am itching for a chance at redemption!
