Has anyone here worked 25 hours straight?

Take some Tylonol PM at 11am and get a lot of sleep before going into work at 10pm. Then sleep as much as you can in your car (while parked) from 7am - 10am.

I think the longest that I have worked during an emergency situation was 33 hours straight. It's a good thing it was a long time ago when I was younger. It will take its toll on you sooner or later as time goes by and sleep deprivation will sneak up on you quick especially while you are driving. You will be driving fine one second, then asleep the next. It can be very dangerous.

Do over 20 on a pretty regular basis. Did 72 once in the Army. Was basically delirious, but stayed on my feet. Just man up and do it. Your body is capable of much more than you think it is.

You can try...just remember, your body isn't made to go that long without rest...can make you more susceptible to illness, etc..

Never understood why medical interns have to work 24hr shifts.

I don't want to be wheeled in when dude (or dudette) is on hour 23-1/2...

Yeah, I've done some long stints (when I was young and in the military) but wasn't worth a toot in the end.

They are "suppose" to enforce residents, fellows, etc. to only work a certain amount of hours per day..,"suppose" to, lol....
