I have read that recent surveys show American patriotism has declined. Has yours gotten stronger or weaker over the last 10 or 20 years?

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The 38% of U.S. adults who say they are "extremely proud" to be American is the lowest in Gallup's trend, which began in 2001. Still, together with the 27% who are "very proud," 65% of U.S. adults express pride in the nation. Another 22% say they are "moderately proud," while 9% are "only a little" and 4% "not at all" proud.

One I graduated high school and started living in the real world, it didn't take long to realize the America that I was taught in school didn't exist

Like he said, the Country we grew up in doesn't exist anymore. I suppose I still like the idea of what the country used to be. I'm not proud of the people. We will likely never get back to the core values we grew up with and it truly saddens me.

I love my country, its not the country, I grew up in, but its still my country. My New York City, friends say that the military brain washed me to "HATE", I tell them New York City trained you to be a week dick head. These guys are my friends for life, our love for each other will NEVER change, but we let each other speak with no hard feelings, but my wife does not want them in my house, for those who know me, her Policy is NO liberals in our house still stands.
