Have you ever witnessed something that absolutely freaked you out?

The church I go to when I go, that I went to every Sunday growing up was founded over 100 years ago. It has a basement on the newer part, I was about 10 or 11 and in the basement alone. Went to the bathroom and stepped out and saw a pale almost transparent little boy, then he just took off. It creeped me out big time. I told my parents about it and when I told them what he looked like they got an eerie look. Apparently a preacher in the 1980s had a son that died at the parsonage next door that looked like what I saw. He died before i was even born.

Raised on the Georgia coast in the 50's. Plenty of paranormal events due to a couple of centuries of tragic deaths. Savannah, Fort Pulaski, Fort Screven, Lazaretto, and all the barrier islands have their sights, sounds, and stories.
When it's dark and quiet and the hair on the back of your neck stands up...

The Gibson Inn in Apalachicola Florida supposedly has its share of otherworldly 'residents'.
Three years ago, we were visiting there and having dinner in the bar. I was taking some pictures of it (beautiful classic old Florida structure) and when we were going through them later, we saw a face in an antique oval mirror that was on the wall. We were the only people in there.

My story isn't paranormal or anything like that, just freaky on a physical level. On my first tour somewhere in the Sahara desert I was standing around some villagers one night at this little mom-n-pop cafe stand. My team and I all just standing there in the near-darkness eating bread, sipping tea, chatting, etc. when all of a sudden a villager came up and whacked another villager sitting right in front of me. Like whacked him with a large heavy wooden stick, the kind they pound millet with in the big wooden bowls. The blow cracked his head open but good. Freaked me out because it was the first time I'd ever seen someone die right in front of me. I learned later that the dead guy had threatened the attacker's sister about something, so he decided to get him first. I think it was the sudden, unexpected violence and gross death that got to me because normally this was a pretty peaceful village.

.
I'm talking goosebump raising, supernatural, paranormal, raise the short hairs on the back of your neck, adrenaline pumping, non-cinematic, defying all attempts of explanation, just weird shît freeky?

No, I'm not talking about accidentally walking into a DNC convention. I mean really weird, no one ain't never gonna believe this, underwear changing, first person witness observations. It would be better if two or more saw it too.

I need to know what you've witnessed, and how you live with it . . . . . . .

Yep.
You can repress and dismiss but it will come back, you don’t forget. You’ll realize some things like bigfoot are probably BS but other things cannot be explained. They are paranormal.
I’ve become less dismissive of others stories for sure.

What did you see?

Forgive me, as I am trying to translate what my dad was talking about with his war buddies and my mother at the table about his experiences in the Vietnam War. I can make sense of my native language but I do not know the full spectrum of vocabulary but from what I gather my dad had witnessed something that gave me the creeps just from hearing it.

The story goes that him and a group of soldiers were on a patrol. He said he remember vividly the sky being a mustard orange and it was around the time that the sun was setting. They stopped by a building in a rural area that overlooked a grassy meadow and looked upon what him and others thought was some creature painted in the most vibrant red you could ever see.
Him and his companions all thought one thing and that what they were seeing was a real life devil. He said everyone remember it being hunched over and spewing blood. The way he described it it was almost too animalistic. My dad described it as if the body was contorted and writhing like a snake. They couldn't make sense of it and were dumbfounded. My dad mentioned that they concluded it was someone who was shot earlier and on their way out so they went to the spot they witnessed it but found not a single drop of blood or any signs of what they saw.

Edit:** If I remember correctly I remember my dad saying that someone even shot at it because they didn't know what it could be but again I was just overhearing the convo and my Vietnamese isn't the greatest.

My dad doesn't speak a lot about what he saw during that time. I just know of two stories, this one and the one where him and others were running through the jungle and being shot at and one friend who took a bullet to the shoulder and he had to leave him behind only to find him alive in the U.S decades later.

I work in an old shirt factory that has since been turned into another business....one day while stand and talking to 2 other men in the back of the factory,I felt someone touch me in my back, right between the shoulder blades...I turned to see who it was...no-one was there....
Another time while running a machine I looked up and saw a bearded man squatted down about 20 ft from me watching me..I looked back at my machine and then realized someone was watching me and looked back at him only he wasn't there anymore...all this took about 3-4 secs....he wasn't there anymore and to top it off no one was in the building that day that fit that description

I've heard alot of credible accounts over the years. People I would trust. I'm not going to repeat their stories.
I've seen 2 "ghosts" myself.
The first was at the old plantion house near the Guidestones. I was taking a friend home and we had just got off work. I'm a local history nut and I've heard stories about the place. We had gotten breakfast and decided to pull over and eyeball the place from the road. 9am-9:30 the curtains upstairs start moving. I seen a face looking out. It moved from one window to another (4 upstairs) and after about 15 mins it stopped. Wasn't sure what I saw. My future wife drove by later that week and snapped some pictures. There was a woman holding a baby looking out the window. It was saved on her laptop, which she lost when she moved out. My in-laws need their butts kicked for getting rid of that computer.

The 2nd was at my grandparent's house. They have this weird AF laid out hall that runs the whole length of the place and then makes a left turn. They went back to Cali to visit people and I was working 3rd. That place has always creeped me out. Got up to pee after midnight. Came out the bedroom, stepped out into the hall, and the bathroom door was closed (wasn't my doing) it was cracked so I pushed it open with my foot and reached across with my left hand to hit the light switch on my right.
In about the time it takes to say "one Mississippi" the light was on, I was looking at the top of a woman's head and she right under my nose. She looked up and made a startled gasp sound, then her face collapsed in on itself and she disappeared.
Next morning I am on the way to Mom's. I told her that I needed to borrow some money to have a security deposit on my new apartment. She looked me dead in the eye and asked if I had seen something. I told her yeah and figured she was about to call me crazy. She asked "Was it a short woman about your aunt's height, walking down the hall holding something out in front of her? Cause that's what I saw."
I ain't been in that place by myself since.
