Headed to Canisteo, New York! DEER HUNTING!

Oh uncle Donald got everything uproar!
Surprised that the license was only $100 bill!
Does anybody know the area?
I know I’ll try to look at the extended forecast look like it’s definitely cold!

Great area for hunting.
I grew up in WNY and my family owns two cabins and 50+ acres outside of Franklinville, NY....just west of where you're headed.
In the Allegany mountains....borders about a million acres of State land.

When I hunted there, it was shotgun slugs only but I've heard they allow rifles now.

Know it well! Hunted Ithaca About due east of Canisteo in Tioga County and Broome County.. Canisteo was in Southern Zone and firearms season opens Nov 15th. It is alot of fun chances for snow make it even more special.. Hunt all damn day.
Deer get pushed around by so many guys in the woods...

If you really want to have fun. Travel south for the PA opener the following week. Pennsy kills more bucks opening day than NYS does all season......

I still own 60 acres in Broome County but will miss this deer season there....

Oh yeah...
Probably not on our property. We've always liked to hunt the virgin state land unless the weather is crazy.
State land roads are not maintained (plowed).
My brothers, BIL and his 3 brothers, and a few friends will be there all of opening firearm week.
Some will be bow hunting the weekends before.
