My buddy’s wife and her first elk. She was the only one that got drawn for a bull tag. We spotted 2 bulls, and she liked this old codger with scars and the broken rack. She lowcrawled in for the shot, got to about 250yds, and shot him the neck. He stood up, went a short distance, so she put one right through his heart. Another couple steps, and he folded up.

Ruger American .308 with Federal Fusion 165grn.

They’re gonna do a European mount, and it’ll look sharp with that busted rack.

No elk this year. Got my first mule deer. Only had a doe tag. Nice shot from a supported sitting position at approximately 400yds.

Dropped a moving coyote at a hair over 200yds. Standing shot, using my buddy’s shoulder as a rest.

Hiked a lot of miles over a lot of beautiful terrain. Gonna head back out there in mid-February to help a disabled vet buddy get a hunt in, and hopefully fill my tag. Then there’s always next year!
