My brother recent purchased a lee mold for a 300 blackout bullet in 230 grain. Has anybody on here used this bullet out of a 16" carbine with any success and if so what powder did you use and how much?

in for info. I got a NOE 247gr mold for the 300 a few years ago but haven't gotten around to building a BO upper yet, nor cast anything for it.

It shoots ok out of my 10.5" pistol with IMR4227. Good enough to ring steel at 50&100. I powder coat mine. I milled out 1 cavity to make it a flat base but can't see any real difference. I shoot them subsonic at 950fps.

I tried some of those in a 16" 1 in 7 barrel. They shot ok from a cold barrel but got feed failures once the gun was warm. It may be the m4 feed lips are too narrow, not sure.

No problems with factory jacketed subs when the gun warmed up, so will stay with them.

I've shot a good bit of cast bullets. Never had problem with the lead issues. We hard cast the majority of the lead that we shoot. Kroil takes care of any fowling.
Thanks for the info on the IMR powder.
