Helmet identification help

I've been looking all over the internet ti figure out what it is but no luck any help appreciated closest think I can find and what I believe it to be is a west german m62 helmet

I believe you are correct it being a Cold War/ Warsaw Pact helmet. That vent thing or whatever it is has me stumped

Probably to help with air circulation, somewhat I suppose. It could have at one time been a part of a ceremonial uniform, are the hole/plug again for air vent. Just my guess

The part on top of the helmet is a stud for the liner the liner is definitely german type after some more research i think it is the west german helmet
