I have a good friend/neighbor who recently asked me for a favor and I’m going to need some help from you older antique knowable gents. Went to go check out his new Vette today and he showed me some older rifles and a revolver he was given 20yrs ago and is interested in getting rid of. So I need a little help with ID and values. He’s really looking to let them go to someone who would bring them back to life if possible or atleast enjoy them.

I can get more details and photos if needed but here’s some photos he sent me…there’s what seems to be:
-38 cal owls head revolver

-side by side 12ga looks to be black powder but isn’t :confused2: it has what appears to be spots for caps but looking closer there actually pins that the hammer strikes and pushes the firing pin thru to the shell

-lever action 32 cal rifle

-auto 12ga with broken stock I believe it to be a Remington

-breakaway 12ga (I think) with like a 5ft barrel

this is a spitball post due to the lack of info I have but would investigate more in depth and answer questions with more definite responses if there’s enough interest and responses

Tk WAhe 12ga may have been converted . Not completely unusual. I would not attempt to shoot it it looks like a wall hanger BUT would need further examination.
Prob. Not much value.
The 38 "special" may only be a 38...
The "broken stock" looks like a Springfield A5 clone. Parts can be hard to fing but they alone have a little value.
The break away "12" shotgun looks like a Noble or some hardware store variety not hardly any value.
Now the lever looks like maybe a stevens.
Not a whole lot to go on. I am interested in parts shotguns if it comes to it.

I’ll stop by his house and get some better pictures tomorrow maybe would clear up a little info. Thanks for the response :thumb:

Iver Johnson used the Owl Head logo. Markings will tell you exactly what it is.

The double-barrel will have markings on it. You’ll need those.

The lever-action is a Winchester 1873. If it’s .32 caliber, and original, then it’s a .32-20 / .32WCF / .32 Winchester Center Fire. Markings will tell you.

The broken stock shotgun is a Remington Model 11, if it’s a Remington. Could be a Browning Auto 5, a Savage 720, or a Savage 745. Markings will tell you.

Single-shot looks familiar, but I’ve really got no idea. Markings will tell you.

I think the humpback is a Remington. Looks like it has the safety in front of the trigger. The Winchester 1873 has some value, but it looks rough. It would take a full on restoration to bring it back.

Thanks for all the responses. They have been helpful. I took some better pictures if it helps identify or verify what’s already been stated.

the lever action actually cycles and everything very well just needs a cleaning and oil

the mechanics on the “humpback” are surprisingly like butter
