For those that know me, I am a GM for a QSR.

I have a safe that will not open. It has not opened all day. The company that makes the safe (CSS) wants to charge a very high amount to give me the master rest.

This is crazy. There safe is malfunctioning.

Yes I have entered the correct code. Yes I have changed the battery.

Can any ODT member help?

You have a Sargent & Greenleaf 6120 lock. S&G quit putting override codes on the back of their lock several years ago. I did not know that CSS kept any codes and unless they have the serial number of the safe and or lock, they have no such code to give you. Sometimes you can bump/hit the safe door (not the lock pad), with a hammer of rubber mallet, just after you enter the last digit of the code. If that doesn't work drilling may be the only option, and no I will not give you the drill point. It takes timing and patience. I have been doing safe/vault work for 38 years and work for many locksmiths and perform warrantee and service work for all safe companies in the US.
