My first guess too.

Just pulled out a sten mag and it definitely isn't. FYI

sure looks like one to me. What is it then? I see an extra piece of metal on the front and back so it may be a modified uzi mag for the ar-15. Still looks like an uzi mag to me though.

I'm going with Soviet on this one. Here is a pic of an Uzi mag from US Machinegun.
