Help, Remington 1100 fails to feed.

There is a C clamp inside the receiver that may have popped out. When you push on the receiver your doing the C clamps job and tightening up the guts

I have several new o rings and glad to send you one if you want to try it. I had an issue once when I cleaned and put it back together I didn't have the barrel lined up exactly. Had it off by 1/16" and it acted like you are describing. I own a good many 1100's and only had that issue once in over 30 years of owning 1100's. Let me know if you need an oring and I'll put it in the mail.

One thing 1100's can be kinda' FINICKY about is the orientation of the "Gap" in the Gas Rings--They should be 180 degrees apart, if they are "Stacked" right on top of each other, Malfunctions can occur, although I don't think that is the problem in this case....mikey357

There is a retaining snap ring internally within the left receiver and a spring staked in. Both seem secure and right.

The o-ring seems in good working order and sincerely doubt replacing it will help. But thanks for the offer. Oh and nice avatar.

The barrel being off? Well I checked and it does appear the ventilated rib is positioned more to the right a smidge. I can adjust that and observe for function.

As for the the orientation of the "Gap" in the Gas Rings, I double, triple checked this as it's an easy thing to hose up. I'm pretty sure they are correct.

I think you just need to give up and let me give you $100 for it. :spy:
All joking aside, I had the same problem with my 12 ga. I can't remember the exact fix, but I know I took it apart and put it back together ten thousand times (give or take a few) before I figured it out. I think a part of the carrier was slightly bent. If I get a chance, I'll pull it apart and see exactly what it was. Good luck.

The right side of the shell catches the lip of the chamber a 5 o' clock. Tweaking the shell carrier a tiny tad on that right side should do the deed.

I'm busy with a hundred other things but will return to it and report back.
