I'm getting lots of different info searching for load data. I know that I can't use the "Ruger Only/TC" data but was wondering what would be a good load for both rifle & pistol. Conflicting data---found that I shouldn't exceed 14,000 psi (750-850 fps) with the LC but I can run up to 23,000 in the 45acp. Why is this- is it the cylinder itself? Other guys say it's ok to go up to 23,000 in the LC. The Ruger Only loads go up to 29,000 or so but those guns are on the old 44 mag frame where the New Vaquero is on the 357 frame. I want a hunting load say in the range of 250-260gr JHP running around 1050 fps. Any ideas?

I use Winchester 231 and 250 grain hard cast bullets 7.4 grains gives 900 FPS and 13,000 pressure. This load has always been good accurate load and works good on hogs. A250 grain hornady JHP with 9.6 grains of n340 will push it at 970 FPS in a 7.5 inch barrel Ruger and is good on deer and hogs! Killed doe at 50 yards dropped DRT. Bullet expanded well. Never had a rifle in it so I can't say !

Been looking at the 250 XTP...plan on using Unique, 2400, or 231. 950 fps will do ok. I think I just found the answer to the pressure max in Rifle Magazine- looks like 22,000-24,000 will be safe as others have tried & tested.
