HK mr556 barrel reprofile

Could someone help with deciding which road to go down? Whether its fluting or a complete reprofile, are there any recommendations?

Wanting to drop some weight without ruining the accuracy (yes I know reprofiling may decrease accuracy a little)
Also, who does a top notch job with barrel work within an hour of ATL?

I want to get an idea of what it may cost depending on what is done

Personally, I wouldn't touch it though. I don't feel like the weight savings is enough to justify the possible degradation of the barrel and accuracy. But then again, that's just my opinion.

I will second IGF (Investment Grade Firearms) They are phenomenal with anything HK!

Please read up on other boards ( HKPRO, etc) before you send something the Jayson at IGF. He does great work, however recently he has had a monster back log and so you may be waiting for months or more. He build my MSG90 and converted my HK-94 to MP5 specs, but based on recent feedback, i would be hesitant to send him work.

Why would you flute ? Fluting does kill some level of accuracy. AI tested and no longer offers fluting as an option for this reason.

If it is a hammer forged barrel, I would leave it alone. It may loose a lot of accuracy, or so I have read from more than one gunsmith.
