HK bringing production capabilities to the US. Assuming this will mean no more neutered imports.

Isn't there already a factory in Columbus GA?

I'm confused.
Yes, maybe. I can't tell if it's warehouse, asssembly, or both from the pictures.

I've 4473 a few Columbus GA H&K guns, so I believe it's a manufacturer plant.

So, not sure what this announcement means.

Yes, HK had a US factory that manufactured certain things here. However, the factory was under the general HK umbrella. As far as I understand it, HK USA in Columbus is now a separate entity.

That means HK USA can design and manufacture their own firearms geared towards the US marke. They can also be free of a lot of (probably not all) the beauracratic German bull**** they have had to put up with in the past.

I would expect to see a lot of guns that don’t have to take the European market into account (maybe less stuff like 10 pound LE triggers and paddle mag releases)

Nope, even better. Much better.

FN did the same thing many years ago. Gets them out from under the EU-centric thinking of the home office and also avoids a lot of the import/export nonsense foreign companies have to deal with from both our government and theirs.

I'll be curious to see how it works out for them though. Part of the HK allure is the fact that they are both pricy and in many cases, unavailable. Kind of like Coors became just another beer once you could get it legally in GA.
