I hate being a complete nerd about electronic cell devices..I am having my security system updated with live cams included. Cell service is spotty on my Mountain, the guy with ETC said I could pick up a cell signal booster, that would create better reception for my cell..He said I could pick it up at Radio Shack or Wally world..He never gave me an opinion of the best for Verizon. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

Cell booster will take available signal and boost it. Receiver goes by the window or outside, it is connected by a cable to transmitter inside. Transmitters can reliably cover only so much, so bigger the area, more expensive they are.
Not all cell boosters can boost all frequencies. I ordered one, but it did not work with my 4G hotspot--Sprint's Spark 4G was not supported.
I would start with the Verizon and see what boosters they sell, and then try to find the same model cheaper.

I will try to look for a compatible booster too and will let you know if I find anything. PM me how many square feet you need to cover with cell signal.
boosters cost several hundred dollars, FYI.

I am using an Eqo Boost from Weboost. I got mine on ebay for $109 lat summer. It may be discontinued now.

It boosted my Verzion phone by 2 to three bars ( it was drooping virtually all my calls. I have not had a call dropped since).and also boosted My 4g Sprint by about 3 to 4 mbs over what it was before the boost. I am satisfied.

Like Jeddak said, one unit in the window (facing the nearest tower)and one unit in the room I wanted the boost in. You will need to experiment ro find the best location.

I could not find the older EQO version, and new ones are close to $400.00 on Amazon.

This is what I did find:

Any ODT'ers close to DD? Both of the solutions will require some fiddling and installations. It would be nice if we could help DD to find a solution and help him to get it running.

DD, I would get that ^^^. Canoecanoe already verified that it works with a Verizon cellphone. That would be the easiest and cheapest way for to get a good cell signal. Outside antennae is a good thing. The cable connecting receiver and transmitter is pretty long, so you can put the transmitter where you want it.

Just won a Weboost EQO, used, on ebay, with an additional exterior pole-mount antenna. I had been looking at them on Amazon, and was up in the high $4's to $5s.

$110 shipped

Hopefully, that will get Verizon working better. tht is my forst step.

4GCommunity is later.

Thanks for the tip. Hope DD gets his.
