Home internet / WiFi hotspots - 4G Community

I just hooked mine up. 3 up 2 down.
Seems faster than windsteam on half a bar.
Hopefully it will still work when the trees get leaves.

I took our wifi device to our land in White County near Clermont. It does much better than at home near Newnan.
Yeah, location does seem to play a huge factor, even though the "signal" may he the same. My box is 4-5 Mbps higher in Jefferson then in the Commerce area. Also, did experience some slow down last week - called support number and guy said to unplug and turn off when not actively using. Said these hot spots (basic model) was not made to run 24hr and would build up heat/static. No idea on technicalities but started turning off at night and speeds are back to normal 7-10 Mbps.

Get some thermal paste, like Arctic Silver. It is used to glue heatsinks to CPUs, and glue copper plate to the bottom or top of the Hot spot. It will stay cooler.

Mine was about the same. Not good enough to warrant a change. I sent it back. Got a message yesterday saying my refund was approved. Really bummed it didn't work out.

How long would you say the whole return process took? I shipped mine back last week and it's been sitting at their local post office for a couple of days waiting for them to pick it up.

What frequency is sprint on?
I ordered mine a few days ago.
I can't wait to tell winstream to shove it.
Windstream is history at my house. I cancelled internet and land line. I am no longer a Windstream customer. I love 4G Community.

I also cut my Dish service back and added Amazon Prime. I am saving about $90 per month overall and have about 10 times the internet speed.

FU Windstream.

Yep it took them a couple days to pick it up, couple more to approve refund and a few more to put the money back in my account.

I'm getting similar speeds to windstream. I see a booster in my future so I can can boot them without the threat of hooking it back up later.

Make sure you check around your house for the best location. Mine is on the second story where I get better reception.

Also, even if it is only a little better, keep in mind it is less expensive and you can take it with you where ever you go. I don't get unllimited data on my phone, so this a big plus for me.

I have checked around the house a bit. My concern is when the leaves come in or rain.
I'm going to get on the roof and see how it does. I'm willing to drop the coin for a booster with an external antenna just to drop windstream.
They really do suck that bad.
