Homeschool Anyone??

not at all, mine is blooming, she's captian of the color guard, is a straight A student, has great group of close friends and is enjoying life. School is full of choices good and bad and it's our job to raise them up properly and trust they'll make the right ones. home schooling up until HS was the right choice for us.

I can appreciate your difference in opinion but if you suddenly found out she was involved in an active shooter setting, it wouldn't have ever been worth it.

Since there's 3 armed Coweta Co officers at the school during school hours I'm not worried about it. Besides, my daughter is no idiot, she was raised by me. IF something did happen she knows what to do and where to go. You can only protect and prepare them for life. The fact is everyone was born to die and there's nothing you can do but prepare for it and hope it's a long way off. More people get bitten by sharks than kids shot at school but that doesn't stop me from going to the beach either.

I guess I feel differently about the welfare of my children since their brains and thought processes aren't completely developed, even during high school years. That doesn't make me right or you wrong but I do appreciate the dialog.

If you looked at the age of your oldest child when they would have started going to public school, how many years ago would that be? In that time, out of ALL of the active shooters at public schools, not including secondary schools, how many have there been?

One of my goals for my kids is that they relate well to adults, not to their peers. There's not much at High Schools (or any other schools) that I'm interested in for them.

I can speak volumes about this having five kids, all of whom were/are homeschooled from day one. One works for me and is doing well, the second graduated magna cum laude at N. Ga. w/ three majors, two daughters in college, one has never made less than an A in two years and one who's made only two B's in 4 years. The two eldest are Eagle scouts, one earning the National Life Saving award for saving a woman in a terrible car accident. The youngest is 14 and about to earn his Eagle. All are very social and competent to discuss many topics, freedom and liberty especially, and can give "an account for what they believe (II Peter 3:15). All are extremely competent in the safety and use of a firearm, one setting a record skeet shooting at his BSA camp, 48 out of 50. I wouldn't want any of them chasing me with a gun!!! Behind being strong Christians, they are avowed Ron Paul supporters!!! What more could I ask for?

I've learned that your kids will turn out the way you expect them to if you're willing to do what it takes. You dads are the key to your families' success. Moms are very important but every depends on the dad. Just sayin.....

Lots of colleges like homeschool kids. Belhaven in Jackson miss. Is one.

Lots of private schools have classes part time for home schoolers.

There's a private school in west Cobb (Think its Veritoss)where the students attend one day a week and take a test. The rest is self study at home

Are you saying that I should have known then (when we made the choice to homeschool) that there would be X number of shootings? Even if I had known there were going to be ZERO, I still would have homeschooled just to kick the government in the nuts and give our kids a non-gov education.

Exactly.
