Honest review on TCP Taurus

Bought my wife an "OOOH It's PINK!" one once. We took it to the range, fired about 100 and took it home. Not a bad little shooter. Naturally the pink shows powder and oil residue fast so there was no question about cleaning it right away. But the takedown pin wouldn't come out. After pulling and breaking a nail I resorted to using the tip of my pocket knife and damn if I didn't breat the tip off a $65 Kershaw trying to pry it out. Talk about pissed. Then the head of the pin starts losing chips. FINALLY it comes out. The damn pin was bent into a ) from the recoil.

I called Taurus and the poor, bored guy there listened for a minute, then cut me off not to ask me questions about ammo or use, just to get my shipping address. He KNEW this was happening and all he wanted to do was get me of the phone. They sent me another pin, which took 3 weeks to arrive. I installed it and sold that gun with a disclaimer and never looked back.

My wife has had two of these. Slide rail snapped off of the first one at the range one day. I sent it off to Taurus and bought her a temporary replacement while we looked for a Sig. Didn't have any problems with the replacement I bought, but she had lost confidence in her carry gun. I never fired the replacement from Taurus.

on sale or normal price? my academy only had them for $199 1 time because it was on sale, and they did NOT have any in stock. normal price is ~$300 a Academy.
Not true! It is there everyday price. I have bought two of them, one about 3 months ago in mcdonough and another one about a month ago in Hiram.

is the SS model the same price? tell me who has it in stock, I will drive to that location. this is not normal price at my Academy in Snellville, unless things have changed. you can PM me; wouldn't want someone else to "jump the gun" on me :D

Mine is Yellow with stainless slide, wish I could post a pic but my camera crapped out on me. It goes bang everytime, but I can't say I've put enough range time into it to have enough confidence just yet. I find the long creeping trigger and lowcut fixed sights to be rather difficult to shoot well with, but I think this is more an issue to be overcome with practice than anything else. My uncle in state law enforcement (which has fairly strict qualifying standards) just qualified with his TCP and carries it as a backup.
