Hot Take: Chicken Wings kind of suck

Damm... where you shopping? Ribeye's $24/lb in poor third-world Brunswick.
I think he was being facetious, but there's a place near me called Wing Stop. I was in there the other day with a friend. He paid $20 for a 15 piece. It is understood that he is eating out and not preparing them at home, but $20, for wings? Nah...

But if you cook chicken correctly, the flavor is in the meat. If the flavor's only in the skin then I would argue that they haven't been cooked properly.
OH, come over from the dark side before all is lost grasshopper........We shall teach you the error of your ways.......

Under $20 pound at the butcher. Well under that if you buy prime rib and cut your own.
About $7-8 pound sometimes when Kroger has rib roast on sale.

Wings are obviously cheaper but
Ribeyes just needs a little salt and pepper to be delicious, wings need seasoning and sauce and they're mostly bones so by time it's all said and done I'll take the ribeye.

When wings were super cheap it made more sense, but beef > chicken all day everyday day.

Can someone tell me why they are so popular? I could go the rest of my life and never eat them and not miss them. A guy I work with is borderline religious about "cold beer and hot wings." It's like a religious experience for him. I think it's another version of "ribs" for me. Everybody I know loves them, I can't be bothered. So, convince me...what's the deal with "wings?" :noidea:
I agree 100%
