How far do you park your 4-wheeler from you stand?

About a mile, but I'm hunting all the way in and all the way out.

I know of a hunter that smokes in his stand. Kills a monster just about every year.

As many wildfires there have been lately probably an effective cover scent!

I don't take a 4 wheeler in, but take an electric golf cart. I've parked as close as 250 yards but I usually try to park it about a about half a mile away, I've jumped up plenty of deer on foot that I'm almost positive I wouldn't have seen if I was in the cart.

I don't ride mine in to my stand. I use it to haul them out.
One day I'm sure that will change, but not quite yet. I kill as many deer on the walk in and out as I do while on the stand.

Refer to my thread "my buddy killed a big un". He said after sitting in the stand for 3 hours trying not to smoke, he finally lit up about 30 minutes before he was planning on getting down. Said he had taken about 3 drags off of it when they came through.

I like to ride my 4 wheeler to the stand. I'm afraid the deer will see it, so I just tie a rope on and pull it up into my stand with me.

Blows my mind guys so worried about their scent yet they park 4-wheeler at the bottom of the their ladder. I always walk in the 4 wheeler is for getting them out!
