I picked up 5 hand selects from classic a few weeks ago when I was in town. Three out of five were great. As far as ammo, I’m still buying it $20-25 per 20 rounds at gun shows. Mostly PRVI ammo but it’s good and I like the SP variant. Original clips are the real issue to find for them. Some aftermarket clips are available in hit or miss quality.

Decent deal on an Ithaca 1911A1. See them go for much more on Gunbroker plus add shipping, ffl and now they are charging sales tax!

Great seller too.

Ithaca not as common as Remington Rands and tied w WWII Colts.

World War II and the years leading up to it created a great demand. During the war, about 1.9 million units were procured by the U.S. Government for all forces, production being undertaken by several manufacturers, including Remington Rand (900,000 produced), Colt (400,000), Ithaca Gun Company (400,000), Union Switch & Signal (50,000), and Singer (500). New M1911A1 pistols were given a parkerized metal finish instead of bluing, and the wood grip panels were replaced with panels made of brown plastic.
