I have on a few occasions offered more than someone’s asking price, even after PMs have been sent! ...WTF, why is this?

I've never offered any more than asking price and nobody has offered me more either. I have said I'd pay their full asking price to get something I wanted though.

As mentioned, if I accepted a deal then I'd stick with it. even if more $$$ was offered later.
