How much trade/sell value at a retail shop?

What kind of percentage of value can I expect if selling/trading to a retail gun shop?

I have a couple guns that rather than deal with selling private party, I’m considering selling to a retail shop just for convenience. I understand I’d be selling at a discount.

Is there a ballpark percentage that most lgs pay for used guns? Any that pay better than others? Is trade value going to be the same as cash value, or are there any that give a better trade value? Looking in the metro ATL. Thanks in advance.

I'd expect 40% of retail.

You may be able to get a little more money out of it if you're trading it into something more expensive. For example, my LGS will offer me, let's say $600 on something. Cash or trade. I can take the $600 and walk away. But if I trade it on something more expensive, I don't pay tax on that $600. Which means I effectively got $642. $600 plus 7%.

30-40% if selling. MAYBE a little higher if trading....maybe.

A lot is going to depend on your LGS also. There are some around here that will give you next to nothing, and a couple that will be a lot more fair. Shop around.

Agree with the others... 30-40% of its real value. But if you have a good, long-standing relationship with the LGS they may be willing to give you a bit more "cuz ur a good customer".

Well since no one else has asked...... what is it your thinking of selling? Somethings will demand more money and give you a higher percent. But others will be less.
