How often? How many rounds?

Twice a month. 200 rounds each trip.

Sometimes after work or on my lunchbreak I'll just dump 100-200 rounds into paper pretending I'm aiming at an excel sheet instead of a bullseye.
I wish I could afford to go out two or three times a month. But dang Amber was just so costly these days. I mean if I want to go out and shoot my 6.5 PRC 40 rounds is a hundred bucks. Same goes to 6.5 Creedmoor. I have to limit myself to rimfire cartridges just shoot that much but I guess practice is practice.

I stopped drinking caffeine, all of that money now goes to ammo lol

I usually have a family shooting every 2 months, everyone in my family fires the guys I provided for them, my wife shoots her Model 36 S&W .38, her Basra .380. I just got her a AR-9, so she will be taking this to the range day, my so usually shoots his AR-15 usually 4 mags. I usually shoot my AR-15, .9mm Berretta and Saiga .12 shotgun. My family is lazy and runs for cover when it's time to clean there guns.

Be purpose driven in your shooting ..be honest with yourself look at every aspect and find out what you’re good at and what you lack skills in then focus on making those weak skills better rather than just shooting paper 100 times.

100%. Dry fire at the house and put it into practice at the range.

I am lucky to get 1 purely fun shooting session per year where I might shoot 100 centerfire round and 200 rimfires in a four hour session. Using 2-3 fun guns and my 2 small pocket pistols which are not fun to shoot-- which I only practice with out of the sense of responsibility to maintain proficiency with them.

If I am really busy and only go to the range because I feel guilty that I haven't shot a gun in several months, I'll probably just bring three pistols -- a .22 to shoot for fun, and my carry handguns.

I would limit the practicing to 100 rounds of the 22 rimfire and just two magazines or two cylinders full out of the compact carry gun. (that's assuming I don't suck! If I end up fumbling with the gun, missing the target, can't find the sights in a hurry, I might stay longer & shoot more than I planned. Embrace the suck and work through it!

( I've had that happen when I didn't bring enough centerfire ammo with me and I had to buy some at the range for $40 a box of 50. Talk about a shiddy day.)

This year, once or twice a month at the range. About 20 rounds of rifle so I can collect chrono data for my reloading and load development stuff. I usually tack on a hundred rounds or so of 9mm after that putting lead to steel and paper targets.

Up until 2024, I was shooting a lot more on the pistol and rimfire ranges. Maybe 5 trips every 3 months, couple hundred rounds per session.

But I also try and do a lot of dry fire practice at home with the MantisX and Laserammo.

One day, I might actually git gudder at hitting stuff.

More often and more rounds the better if you need it. But they're right. It ain't cheap. I need to get back to it. I know it's coming. Just got to get there. Dry firing and going through drills at home will help. As far as how much, depends on your skill set and how much you want to improve. 22LR can help a long ways
