Hunter Education Requirements are BS!!!

Update... They let me walk in without preregistration so it ended up not being a big deal.

So I've hunted since I was a small child in several states but mostly Alabama. This year I joined a club here in Georgia. I'm busy like everyone and find out I've got to do hunter education despite 30yrs of accident free hunting. So I pay for the online class and pass all the tests and now I have to chase down a 2 hour class that don't seem to have any regular schedule and they are always booked 2 weeks out!!! I'm all for people being taught safe practices but I can't believe the run around to find the 2 hour class. Am I missing something with booking the 2 hour class? Rant off...

well.im sorry for the difficulty that you are having scheduling the 32hr class...oh.wait,i just went and looked its not a 32hr class its only 2hrs?
I personally think it should be more than that..you are talking about people buying high powered weapons and spraying the woods with bullets at moving targets!!

I thought it was ridiculous too when I took mine in 19...something. I recently thought about getting a lifetime license, not because I hunt that much, but because of all the rinky-dink fees you have to pay to go anywhere or do anything. GORP is something you eat, not an at-water Roman road fine. I'm glad I kept my Hunter Safety card from way back, or I would be near as mad as you for having to take it... again.

I'm thinking the OP had never had a Georgia hunting license? I got my HS card in the 80's and it was 2 days 4 hrs each I think.

no clue how my number is, took it sometime in the mid-90s. computer says i have one on file and it lets me buy my license and print off tags so im good lol.
