Hunting Suppressed

Only shot one deer with it so far, but I'm shooting subs out of my 12 inch 8.6 Blackout. Granted it's a 342 grain projectile and I don't intend to take any shots past 150 yards with it. The one doe I shot was at 125 and she barely went 10 feet before doing some weird wobble and falling over dead.

That's a bit of a simplistic and uneducated statement

You need JHP/copper monolithic/fragmenting ammo to reach a certain velocity threshold.

Sub sonic is very slow.

You risk not reaching the threshold due to lack of velocity.

This can lead to wounding the animal and not killing it.

Sub sonic is dumb.

No. You need ammo to open up and decent shot placement.

What are your thoughts on bow hunting?

You're comparing a razor sharp broadhead that can cut you open by barely dragging skin against it against a very small piece of round metal that is meant to expand with velocity. Once a hunting round opens up it becomes sharp (TSX) , wider or explodes (TMK).

Of course shot placement matters, why would that even need to be said?

What happens when you have a round that doesn't expand or fragment like it's supposed to? The animal is now being hit with a piece of metal with a massive lack of kinetic energy behind it.

It's dumb and irresponsible.

Shot. Placement. Wins. Period. Take out heart and lungs, it's done. Period.

Plenty of good options for subsonic hunting projectiles in a plethora of cartridges.
