I agree, for squirrels hunting with subs are fine. For large game super's.
3 for 3 pulling the trigger with supers and a suppressor on deer this season. Eliminates wounding the animal and not recovering it if the shot is off for any reason. Also, I can still hear what the wife says....
So, that's the downside?
I killed a deer with my. 300 blk out suppressed with subs before. I used 200 gr makers rex bullets. The key is to research and find a bullet that is built to expand at subsonic velocities. You also will need to treat it like your bow hunting with a rifle. So try to mainly take broadside and quartered away shots that are 100 yards and in. It worked for me. Bullet opened up and it looked like someone had dumped a can of paint through the woods. This was the wound channel from that bullet
No offense, but your original post actually shows you do not know what you are talking about. Which is fine, because you are asking questions, but I wouldn't be quick to point fingers. A subsonic .22 CM would indeed be virtually pointless.
I shoot 300blk subsonic suppressed for armadillos and beavers.
I've heard a lot of folks shoot blanks at beavers these days??
