HVAC 20 AMP breaker keeps tripping

Do it before removing and after power is cut off and breaker plug pulled if you have one in the power box. Just make sure to use insulated plyers or screwdriver.
I'm cursed.
The AC guy came out and it was only get 120. He went to the breaker and it sounded like 2 gunshots. He flicked it on and off.
Electrician came back out and the back of the disconnect box was blackened. There is not enough pull so he will have to cut the wall and add a blank faceplate.
The outer shell of the wiring was behind the wall and not in the disconnect and the siding spliced it.

If you can do it cheaper, let me know. The disconnect box is like $20, but trade skills men wants to bend me over. I think I'm being overcharged just for the extension
Replacing the disconnect looks pretty easy. It is now at 30 amp. I just hope it didn't cause any damage to the AC unit
