I am Adam Lanzas Mother

I'm not a psychologist but I see strong medication and a permanent room in an institution for this kid. I hope someone can find an answer for him but it doesn't look good.

this story is about the mother of a mentally ill child and talks about the challenges of the illnes and how dangerous those who suffer from it can be, its an interesting read. i do wish we had more treatments or better yet cures for these mental illnesses but i don't forsee it happening in my lifetime

they should research this illness and others like it like alcheimers current medicien for problems with the brain are way too ineffective, i know because my grandmother has dementia and the doctors are not that helpful but i do not wish to see her in a home some place surrounded by nurses and such constantly

I have heard just a tiny little bit of discussion about the mental health failures in our country, but a whole lot of talk about gun control. No one wants to do what needs to be done to deal with the root problem.

Dealing with these kids is going to be costly. And it is not always going to be effective. And when it is not, these kids are going to have to be institutionalized. And guess who is going to have to pay for that. Cause the parents can't and the insurance industry won't. Is it worth the cost? I say yes.

The mom in that article finally did the right thing and had her kid hospitalized. Unfortunately, he probably won't stay there.

We incarcerate drug users who are generally a threat only to themselves, but these clearly violent kids are left to fall through the cracks until they kill someone. Then they get incarcerated. Insanity.

It is much easier to say that high capacity magazines shoudl be banned and that will stop the whole thing. Charles Whitman did not use high capacity magazines.

Many school children were murdered in China over the past several years, all with knives axes and bludgeons, as civilian ownership of firearms is unheard of in China. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_attacks_in_China_(2010%E2%80%932011)

It's almost as if the gun control lobby is saying, "eh, we don't have the will to really do anything about this, so let's just keep the body count down." Had the kid had access to a Remington Woodsmaster, do you think he would have said "ah, forget it - if I have to reload, I just won't kill anyone."

The lack of logic behind the gun control push is astounding.
