There's an AH-64D/E circling overhead....It's passed over my house 7 times now and I can hear him coming in for pass 8. I'm estimating he's traveling at roughly 250ft and 110-120mph. I'm roughly 2 miles from the airport ATCF, a two mile radius would be ~12 miles and he's been passing every 6 minutes....the math works.....the question is WTF is going on?!?!?

Hilton Head Island. It's a fairly small airport.

Eighth pass, I can see the rotor wash in the fabric of my gazebo.

Took this on pass 3, tough to see, but it's definitely a D/E as it has the radar dome.

He could be practicing a holding pattern with 2-3 minute legs. I wouldn't think they'd do it that low but I only do fixed wing stuff. Probably using his xray vision to spy on your guns

Not over this island. We have a butt load of ordinances about flying that low. Last summer they fined the snot out of one of those banner trailing planes because he got bored in between flyovers of savannah and flew over the island at 800ft. Even the MCAS doesn't fly over the island.
