I dont get it. 3 criminals, following some gun laws?

The story is about a bust here in GA. But what I don't understand is why the "criminals" took off their pistol braces and angled fore grips... you're criminals, why not put stocks on them, and fore grips.

But they did at least have them sweet switches.
