I ****ed up real bad.............................FIXED Woooot!!!! Yeah I got lucky.

Thought I would remove the side rails from my new SCAR 17 because I hate rails and discover that it contains a ****ing leaf spring that holds a screw to the firearm.

So I'm like I will just put the rail back on and then realize the front screw won't go in because the nut thing behind it is now offset.

****!!!! Can anyone help me out here?

Try sticking a small punch in the hole and see if it will gently rotate back to where it needs to be.

Is it identical on the other side, Rail and all?

I don't know if you could ream out the rail to get the screw to fit, or possibly use a c clamp to pull it closer. @Wallace's Would be your go to guy on the scars. But a gunsmith I would advise.

Yeah it looks simple but the backer for the front screw is misaligned and I can't get it realigned. It basically won't go back into place.
