I @#$^%* Hate Roll pins.

Had one split for forward assist, of course dont have a replacement.

Why can't we use something other than roll pins that dont fit, are painful to install, painful to remove, break, etc.

I ordered about fifteen when I had one split. If you're in the dunwoody or sandy springs area, I can meet and give you a couple.

Also, I've seen several different makes and not all are equal. There are the cheap ones that don't even make a full "roll" or full circle when looked at from one of the open ends of the pin. You gotta take care with these. Oil the pin beforehand and go easy with the hammer taps.

The better kind are the ones that are "layered" meaning it seems as if the metal has been "rolled" several times over on itself. These are much more resistant to splitting.

As much as I despise spikes for the owner's arf.com rants, their lower parts kit has one of these layered roll pins for the trigger guard (I have split those too).

Get a good quality tool(s) for insert/removal....the SnapOn or Klein tools work best...JMO. Even with the correct tools they can be a pain!
