I need ODTs knowledge on Mosin Nagants 7.62X54r

Errr... Why?

For that kind of money you could buy a nice Ruger American or Savage with a scope in a good hunting caliber. It will be far more accurate than a Mosin, and you don't have to deal with expensive (these days) 7.62x54R corrosive ammo.

Mosins are fun and when they were <$100 I would have said everyone should have one, along with a spam can or two of the dirt-cheap ammo.

But they were never particularly accurate, even then 'sniper' versions, and the price of both the guns and the ammo these days is ridiculous.

As mentioned above, for a collector that gun shown might make sense, but to hunt there are much better options these days.

 
Here's the deal. I have 1500 rounds of non corrosive 7.62x54r ammo and nothing to shoot it with. Just looking for something to sling bullets downrange. A pie plate at 100 is fine since it will just be a back up for a lot of other back ups.
