i should be angry but i'm laughing

well here's a few reasons why bose makes really terrible and over priced products

-the speakers they use are just crap. they use itty bitty little speakers in their housings with tiny drivers and magnets. the cones of the speakers are made of "space age paper" which means paper. paper doesn't cut it when it comes to sound quality. they claim that their "direct reflecting" technology revolutionizes the way sound waves are heard. the term itself is an oxymoron.
-the housings that the speakers are put in are of poor quality, almost like fiberboard glued together. when u turn up the volume u can hear how hollow and tin-like the sound is due to not being able to handle the vibration of the speaker inside
-the bose "subwoofer" is nothing more than a full range speaker put inside a big housing made of fiberboard, painted really nicely. i don't need to say any more
-their marketing tactics mislead people into buying expensive junk with terms like direct reflecting, wave guide, accoustimass. and yet none of those terms are accurate in terms of their product's ability to produce sound

Thank you for your response/information.

denon makes great a/v units. but i just can't get over how expensive they are, when i can get more features from my pioneer/yamah/sony receivers

I used to get all denon receivers at cost as I had friends who worked for the people who make their audio processor chips. Made a 1400 dollar receiver like 700. All of a sudden it was affordable.
