I've played violent video games since I was a young child and at no point have I ever committed a violent act without provocation. Hypocrisy is you saying it's easy to blame guns but proceed to easily blame video games.

Nothing is to blame but the rapidly declining mental health of our country, especially the youth. It's time to focus on the real problems and quit pointing fingers at what we don't like.

As a general rule, I'm all for upping the age on everything to 21. Guns, booze, voting, military, etc. 18yo kids might have been mature and level headed enough to handle the real world and those things years ago, but not now.

Still say it is poor parenting. If you are raised right it is something that stays with you through life.

Just a thought. But , could we consider parents letting kids play violent video games and watch extremely violent movies be considered poor parenting. I’m in my ‘70’s so a bit out of touch.

Fine, as long as we raise the age limit to join military or be drafted, or to get a driver’s license, to 21 also.

Driving I would say learners at 16, license at 17 with X amount of hours behind wheel, or 18 after passing a very hard exam. Raise everything else to 21.

Do you think it has anything to do with either sorry parenting or even in some cases over parenting as in kids that are way too sheltered?
As far as age goes I don't think there's any difference between 18 today in 2022 and when I turned 18 in 1988. I DO believe there is a big difference in parenting styles/rules and education styles and rules. 18 is 18. It's all in the upbringing and environment.

As for driving I really hope the state raises it to 18 very soon. I have one last kid that will be 15 in August. And it's not that I don't trust her ability. I just remember the wrecks I had as a teenager. And that may seem selfish on MY part but I can't stand the thought of my youngest daughter going through even half the **** I went through. And she already has an 01 Dakota here in the yard ready to go.
Will 2 more years make her a safer driver? Nobody knows. But I just assume that it will make for a more mature careful and most importantly ALERT driver.
