Failure during competition must suck. I'd feel the same way if whatever brand failed me.
Sorry, I stated what I did to elicit a response. I have a lowly SOTA upper paired with an even more-lowly NFA polymer lower. For range trips, it's a match made in heaven. I'm not an operator nor do I play one on TV...I did abuse another NFA lower w/an Adams Arms 5.45 upper at the machinegun melee at Red Hill this last weekend without an issue other than the occasional hard primers on the surplus ammo, even with the Wolf extra-power hammer spring.
Like I said, I'm a big fan of the Miculek muzzle brakes. They are LOUD. But they work and won't break the bank. You could shoot the rifle resting on your nose if you want with the brake attached. Follow-up shots are a cinch.
Yeah it sucked... and I'm no operator, just someone who is a little more abusive to most of his ARs then others... I'm not a fan of NFA lowers but I've personally only had one and it ran fine. But I do love SOTA Uppers, cheap and effective.
I'll have to check into the Miculek brakes... I've been wanting a Lantec Dragon but holy expensive!!!!
