Thank you for your service. People like you are who ive looked up to my entire life. I try not to let anyone walk past me with a hat, badge, a uniform or any sign of them being in the military without saying thank you. Some give me the shoulder and some smile like its made there week. Either way I walked away knowing that someday... that's going to be me listening to a little guy tell me how they appreciate my service. Thanks for the support.

the cold weather MREs (white package) have eggs and breakfast stuff, they arent to bad (or maybe its because i was only eating MREs for a few weeks straight on a mission in Afghanistan when i had a few of them...lol). have ramen noodles (similar lol) in the cold weather ones also.

Yep the cold weather one's like M&M's last a long time..When I was in every thing was in small cans and you used a P38 to open..We used our helmets to warm with C4 lit underneath to heat..DD

yep, C-rats are yummy lol. its all fun and games to heat your food with C-4 until someone decides to step on it! lol!

i had an MRE not to long ago

i dont know how they tricked me into liking them during basic

Yeah the first round at meps sucks but I did it a few years ago for the navy and decided on not going. Then when I did it a few months ago wasn't that bad and I knew what was coming. One more time Next Sunday and then im on a bus at 12pm headed to Benning.

Might be the best advice yet. Don't let them get inside your head and you'll do ok. This might be one of the best time of the year to go to basic, not too awful hot or cold. Dang, just remembered that the temp yesterday is in a tie for the hottest day of 2013.

that's why I feel sorry for the guys already there. Sept 9-Jan?? will be nice and chilly. Ill be fine either way. I am just ready to get started.

Make sure to ask the drills if they have all their online classes done, their GAT survay, and DTS is squared away.

And for what reason would I know about this? Why would I ask? What do they mean?
