Sweetest dog I ever had was my black lab Princess. She got very sick at 12 yrs old and I had to make the decision to put her down. I went in with her at the vet and held her chin and let her press her nose to mine one last time. I cried for days.

I couldn’t do it. Stopped on the way to the vet and turned around. My lab was 13 and actually made it another year but was not in good health at all. I just couldn’t do it.
