Impossible to find campsites??

We had a pop up and actually sold it in 2021 or so. We don't plan months in advance. We may see a free weekend here and there a few weeks out and found that it was too late. Camping is a rich mans game these days. Its cheaper to get a hotel or rent a camper a few times a year than buy a truck and camper and pay for a spot. One day we will get back into it.
Camping is a lot of work to live homeless.

Hotel with free breakfast sounds like my kind of camping these days!!

Lots of traveling nurses have campers and stay in them, but Florida campgrounds are some of the worst to try to find availability.

I remember when I was a kid in the 80’s/90’s that you could pull up to a state campground and pick a spot with no advanced planning. And I remember half the campground being empty while we stayed. Recently the wife and I decided to start looking for a popup. After looking for several weeks I decided one day to look for an actual campsite near my mother in laws. Unless the website is wrong, its booked out for close to two years. When did camping become impossible? Anyone else experiencing this at their campground of choice? Granted the campground near her is small with only 28 spots. But even in the off season its packed.

I sold my camper because I don't plan things far enough in advance to ever get a good site booked. 2020 was when things got stupid.

Sometimes I intentionally piss the wife off and pitch my tent in the back yard just so I can remember what it's like. Or that's what I tell myself anyways.

I think there is more to camping than having a place to spend the night. I can go in my driveway and sleep if I just want to sleep in the truck .

Campground. Ive been looking at Kelly park in Apopka Fl. It is a popular spot so that doesnt help any. But I never imagined being booked out so far.
