Indoor Ranges That Forbid Shooting Steel Cased Ammo

NORTH GEORGIA GUN RANGE just opened up the Range back in July of 2013. 123 maddox circle East Ellijay GA 30539. they buy. sell. trade. repair. stock ammo and have a pretty nice 25YD indoor range Rated up to a .460 Weatherby Magnum. HOWEVER ( they tend to stay .300 win mag and down.) " less wear & tear " on the plates & trap. and seem to have .22 ammo 5.99 per 50 2-3 diffrent kind. range dogs, friendly staff. they can order anything like the rest of em. they are a small operation. only 7 lanes. they have IDPA matches on thursday nights at 7. theyr number is 7066353473

one of the only fires I know of was not caused by a steel or bi-metal jacket......it was caused by tracers..........just a thought to ponder as they don't stick to magnets

Their range, their rules.

And I won't darken their doorstep...

I'm a member of Norcross Gun Club and range. No problems with steel or rapid fire, full auto, etc. Great staff, too!

Their sister store in Sandy Springs has the same policy.

Good luck finding a good range! Sadly they are harder and harder to find it seems.

I would like to try Quickshot. Might be a good place to take a client and do some submachinegun rentals...

Second NCGC. Great spot, no issues with ammo, no issues with bump fire, no issues with mag dumps.

Got asked not to shoot low on a target once because I was bouncing them off the floor, but other than that, I cant remember a time when we got talked to about how we shoot.

member of the Sandy Springs Gun Club... same here... shoot what you want, full auto? sure Steel cased, No worries.... they sure as hell don't test your ammo (

Norcross Gun Club is the shiznit! No stupid range rules, no annoying SWAT Seal team 6 spec ops know it all staff members and they don't care what you do as long as you follow all the safety rules.

They key here is pretty simple.

If the backstop is the rubber 'nuggets' I've never seen any range (Sandy Springs/Norcross/Quickshot) care about steel cased or cored projectiles.

If the backstop is plate-steel, they will care, for all the reasons GA Firing Line mentioned.

As for the empty cases, the only range I ever saw ban those was the new one at Adventure Outdoors (although it sounds like there are others). I'm guessing they do pay a penalty for steel cases mixed in with the brass. That seems to depend on who the range sells their brass to though.

BTW, +1 on QuickShot
