I respectfully asked what the reasoning for the change was and have been insulted, attacked, berated, and treated like crap by there admin and membership both in posts and IM. I will be getting banned there in the next 2 minutes. BRB gotta go speak my mind.

This is the reason you guys have problems. You push people until you anger them, and then they no longer really give a flying fart if you ban them or not, so they start testing you.
As such, I really don't care if you ban me. So I am going to say my piece for 2 or 3 people to read before you delete me just like you have in the past to others, and will in the future to anybody who doesn't stroke your ego and tell you what a great site you have.
It was a mistake taking down the S&S in the first place. You lost more membership as a result of this then you realize, and most of them are happy with their new home. I believe you could have lured many of them back as they are not a loyal bunch, but this new sorry excuse for a market place will be the nail in the coffin for many of them.
Paying $1.00 is not going to make people behave the way you want them to. Treating people with respect will go much further.
I found this site a few years ago when I was considering moving here from New Mexico. As you said, the internet is a big place, and there are discussion forums a plenty. Many more much larger national forums with many more members, with a much larger knowledge base for that. What attracted me to GON was the local S&S.
The local S&S offered something that national forums couldn't. Instant gratification. I could drive down the street and pick up my new toy, instead of dealing with the hassles of money orders, shipping, and FFL transfer fees.
I spent a lot of time browsing your forums. Reading about the local hunting and fishing scene. As I am new to the area, I generally didn't have much to add to these forums, but occasionally I would find somebody with a firearms post regarding AR15's or 1911's, and since I am very fluent with both platforms, I would make an effort to help out.
Yes, I sold quite a few guns on this forum 6-8 months ago. I was purchasing a house, and needed a down payment. I treat firearms like a savings account. I needed money, I sold a bunch of my guns. I valued that GON was there to make it easier for me. Does this make me a dealer? No, I think not. Anybody with any sense could look at my join date, and the gaps between posts, and see what I say is true.
Fortunately for all of us here in Georgia, when GON dropped the ball, others stepped in to pick it up. And while they are not perfect, they treat there membership with respect and listen to there members, because after all, without members, your just another www. on the internet that nobody cares about.
So Ban me. I really don't care. There is a wealth of Firearm, Hunting, fishing, LEO, blah, blah, blah, knowledge to be had at www.ar15.com, where I have been paying member in good standing since 2003. I'm willing to pay for there service because they understand that it is there membership that makes them great. Heck, they even have a hometown forum for GA that has some great people who contribute.
And I guess I will just have to fulfill my desire for instant gratification on "the other site". I'm ok with that. Most of the good people to deal with from GON have found there way over there anyway.

Honestly, they are too much.
What I find amazing about this whole situation: They had a winning soluton on their hands. The customers (members) were perfectly happy. The people who didn't like it? The admins and mods. Talk about having the caboose in front of the locomotive.
