I use Water with dawn in my bath with the pins when I tumble them.Using solvents to clean? Wear from stainless pins?
Kinda looks like galvanic corrosion/two metals reacting.

Centerfire it doesn't much matter, but rimfire it needs to be user serviceable...

My guess is the steel pins are wearing the aluminum baffles during the cleaning process. I use Hoppe's 9 and some elbow grease to clean mine.I use Water with dawn in my bath with the pins when I tumble them.
Why was it only these 2 though, they've all spent the same amount of time in the tumbler? My guess is the steel pins are wearing the aluminum baffles during the cleaning process. I use Hoppe's 9 and some elbow grease to clean mine.
Yeah, I'm too OCD to let them go too long....I clean mine every time I service my muffler

They are all aluminum except for the stainless blast baffle. Some are anozided black while others are a raw grey color.I don't know how many aluminum baffles we have in these cans. Keep us posted if the other baffles start showing signs of wear. My baffles aren't nearly as clean as yours, and I don't get to use my cans as much since the range down the street closed.
